Thursday, September 10 — 5:00 to 9:00 PM
Sandbox — 1417 10th Ave, Studio 7 — Capitol Hill Art Walk
ALL AGESNO COVER5–9 PMART WALK

No bands this time. Just doors, a mystery, and art. Plenty of art.

The Institute has a file on something in the Washington timberland. They classified it before anyone could photograph it. They gave it a number instead of a name.

Bring a phone. Scan a door. Find out what they were hiding.

Just now

SUBJECT 89 is this Thursday at Sandbox. Capitol Hill Art Walk, 5 to 9, all ages, no cover. 1417 10th Ave, Studio 7. That makes four shows I have done at Sandbox now. They keep letting me back in, which I choose not to examine too closely.

No bands this one. Just the doors and the art and whatever is in that file. Nick says this one is about something in the trees and that the Institute sealed it before anybody got a picture. He also says not to worry about it, which is the exact thing you say when there is something to worry about.

The Georgetown Carnival was completely awesome. Huge thank you to everyone who came out to find the doors and see the installations.

Massive shoutout to all the bands who brought the energy, the volunteers who set everything up and tore it all down, and a very special thanks to Jellyfish Brewing Company for making it happen. We could not have pulled it off without you.

A Kraken Time was INSANE!

Holy crap you guys. May 9th was massive. Thank you to everyone who came out.

Just to be clear: I did not actually paint anything, I am just curating the doors and finding the concrete spots. But my friends Laura Shaheen and Emily Bromberg did some absolutely incredible live painting. You guys blew my mind.

The bands killed it too. Huge shoutout to DTI, Vanished and Hellslaught for rocking the house.

Oh, and my best friend Nick Saputo was there as a special guest. He brought a bunch of weird gear and was scanning the doors for "Chronal Anomalies"... whatever that means. He kept muttering about The Operator.

Added 6 new photos to the album: Old Show Posters & Graphics. Going through the hard drives and found some of the old promotional graphics from the earlier iterations of the doors.

The Belltown Blast

Aug 2026 — Belltown — one-day street takeover, the Saturday after the art walk · doors up and down the street

A one-day street takeover on the Saturday after the art walk. They let us put doors up and down the block during a full festival, and we brought the game with us. That is why the game still says Belltown Blast.

Bob Loves Doors 3: Failed Flight Plan

Aug 2026 — Sandbox, Capitol Hill — Capitol Hill Art Walk · the D.B. Cooper chapter

The D.B. Cooper one. November 24, 1971: a man steps out the aft airstair of Flight 305 into the dark and is never found. We have opinions about where he went. Players scanned tags around the room to pull apart the Institute’s cover story.

2026 — Sandbox, Capitol Hill — second Sandbox show

Second night at Sandbox. More doors, more people, and the first time the room felt like it belonged to us.

The first Sandbox show. No number on it yet, because we did not know there would be more.

Remember Ink Jet, the octopus that escaped the Seattle Aquarium? He came back. He travelled through time, survived a mutation, and started telepathically communicating with the team. Bands: DTI, Vanished, Hellslaught. Live painting: Laura Shaheen, Emily Bromberg.

A monthly run at The Meyer. The story came apart a little more each month while the Institute tried to hold the timeline together with painted doors.

Mar 4 2026 — The Central Saloon — the first one

The oldest bar in Seattle, which felt correct for a show about things that will not stay in their own decade. This is where it started.

How To Play

It is free. There is nothing to install. You do not make an account. I would not know how to build that anyway.

  1. Find a door. They are painted. You will know.
  2. Tap or scan the tag. Hold your phone near it, or scan the code with your camera. If neither works, there is a code printed on it you can type in by hand.
  3. The story opens in your browser. You also get the file on the artist who painted that door, and a link to their own work — which is honestly the better half.
  4. Find another one. Different doors, different pieces. Any order.

Doors: Paint One, Donate One, Host One

Over forty doors have been painted by more than sixty Seattle artists and musicians. Most of them are still in storage. That is the problem I am trying to solve.
